We just bought a 30-foot sailboat, a 2002 Hunter 306, from Specialty Yachts, and Darren was the agent we had worked with. From the first contact to date, even after weeks after acquiring our new boat, Darren has been so helpful in many ways. He educated us about our new vessel, including what we should be watchful for. He lined up for a mechanical inspector and a surveyor. He helped us to get a dodger and a bimini put on and he was there at 7am in the morning on the day I sailed her away to our slip in Blaine. Darren is extremely knowledgeable about the boats, the surrounding cruising areas, and boat mechanics, but the most importantly, he is very willing to provide the best experience he can acquiring a boat, this was the real value for us. After working with him through this transaction, we will not sell or buy another boat without involving Darren at Specialty Yachts !!!

Seamew, my new(ish) 1989 Hunter 30 from Specialty Yachts is the realization of a life long dream to own a sailboat. Through the process of defining what was realistic, lots of research, and walking through many variations of sailboats the Hunter stood out by far. I can honestly say my broker, Darren Marriott, went beyond any expectations in making the purchase stress free and focused on the end goal, sailing away every weekend to discover the coast anew. Through the offer, mechanical, sea trial, survey and final purchase this 30 year old boat is going to be loved, even with a few inevitable issues to work on over the next few months. Darren helped with everything from getting insurance, temporary moorage, picking the boat up for it’s inaugural sail, organizing a haul out for repairs etc. He remained positive, communicative and optimistic through the entire process, helping to keep everything in perspective, while offering lots of suggestions and alternatives. This will always be my first boat, but likely not the last. I would highly recommend Darren and Specialty Yachts.

My wife and I just bought our first sailboat through Specialty Yachts. Darren took us through their sales process, showed us their inventory and although we were nervous and many questions, he was very patient with us. He was very knowledgeable about the vessels and his enthusiasm made the whole process a pleasure. I definitely would purchase another vessel again from Specialty Yachts.
