Bella Desgagnés ship delivers goods and bring people along Lower North Shore

The Bella Desgagnes provides a unique and relaxing way to tour the St Laurence River and travel to Labrador and Newfoundland. Before railroads and highways, packet boats and mail steamers carried passengers and cargo to villages and towns along the shores of the Great Lakes and the eastern seaboard of the US and Canada. The Bella Desgagnes continues this tradition serving 12 ports along the St Laurence River and gulf. The ship carries cargo along with tourists (and their vehicles) and residents and visitors to towns along the route. Layovers at each stop provide plenty of time to explore the villages and talk with the townspeople. The ship is relatively new and offers an array of cabin accommodations, a restaurant and cafeteria. The crew is knowledgeable, helpful, and available to answer any questions about the unique towns visited during the week long voyage. I recommend the Bella Desgagnes to anyone interested in exploring Quebec, Labrador and Newfoundland and trying something different than the typical cruise ship.

We recently had a trip on the Bella Desgagnes from Rimouski to Blanc Sablon and all I can say is it was FANTASTIC!! We really didn't know what to expect as we didn't know anyone else who had done this. The boat was modern, clean, food was gourmet ++, shore trips very interesting ++ A chance to explore a part of Canada that few get to. Such fun to watch cargo (even our car) being loaded on the boat in containers.
